At Whale-Phin is situated on a dune with an unspoilt view over the coastal fynbos, the beach, river mouth and the bay of Mossel Bay. From your room, balcony and sundeck spot the whales in season (July - November) and the dolphins close to the shore. The bird lover will enjoy the vast amount of garden birds that come to visit.
At Whale-Phin is situated 14km from town centre, in the safe suburb of Reebok. Enjoy tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the town. We are about 5 minutes walk from the ocean and the clean safe beaches, where one can swim. If you just want to rest take a book, lie on the deckchairs and enjoy the sea. If you do not want to drive to one of the excellent restaurants nearby arrange a dinner at Whale-Phin, we stock good wines. Self catering is also available.
Make Whale-Phin your base from where to explore the Garden Route. George is only 35 minutes drive, Knysna 70 minutes and Oudtshoorn 60 minutes. Take the Outiniqua "Choo-Tjoe" (steam train) from the Railway Museum in George to the Diaz Maritime Museum in Mossel Bay. Excellent Game reserves are also in the vacinity (as close as 10km from Whale-Phin).
