Weavers Roost is the ideal getaway, only one hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria. Our facility offers a very tranquil environment, with a variety of birdlife and some smaller animals like the Verves monkeys, Bush babies, Buck, porcupine Water Mongoose and Slender Mongoose, etc. Our tariffs include a waterslide (not operational during winter months), trampoline and children's play area with swings, hiking trails, mountain climbing etc.
The resort offers self catering cottages, caravan and camping sites all situated in a serene bushveld setting. All our cottages are self catering and do supply crockery and cutlery for 4 and 6 people (depending on your choice of accommodation). You have to bring own linen, towels and groceries. Should you have forgotten anything, we also have a fully stocked kiosk that caters for almost anything. There are caravan stands and camping / tenting sites for the more adventurous. Every site has a braai (barbecue) and table with electricity plug point available. We also offer buffet lunch every Sunday from 12h30 until 15h30 (bookings are essential, either on booking or arrival).
Weavers Roost is situated within easy reach of Hartebeespoort Dam where you can enjoy water sports or visit the aquarium and wildlife displays. Ride the cable way to the Magaliesburg Summit for breathtaking views. Even closer by is the "Cradle of Humankind" Heritage Site, with Sterkfontein Caves, Rhino Park, nature reserves and trout farms. There are good restaurants and bush pubs in and around the hamlet of Magaliesburg, which is about 15km from Weavers Roost. |
