Trackers is situated against the mountains of the Klein Drakensberg, on the North-Eastern Escarpment. Our delightful self catering chalets look out over the Lowveld towards the Kruger National Park, and the last valley of the Blyde Canyon. The nature reserve extends from the Blyde River to the top of the mountains and contains many mammals including hippo, zebra, a variety of antelope and leopard. Safe walking on the reserve provides the keen naturalist freedom to experience a great variety of birdlife and interesting plants.
The chalets are situated high on the foothills with magnificent views over the lower canyon mountains and the lowveld. Insect proofed and self contained, they provide a secluded and comfortable haven to enjoy the peace and quiet of surrounding nature. We provide delicious meals, but please note that we do not supply any alcoholic beverages, however you are very welcome to bring your own!
The Blyde Canyon view points are within a short drive through scenic country. The central Kruger National Park is within an hour's drive for day visits via the Orpen and Phalaborwa gates. Local places of interest include the animal rehabilitation centre, a reptile park, silk farm and cheetah breeding centre, all of which provide meals. With boat rides in the canyon, a variety of adventure activities, and many curio outlets there is enough to keep you busy for several days. |
