PlacesForAfrica.com deals directly with all of its establishments, and is not involved with any third party ventures such as booking or letting agencies. The latter may be wavered where explicitly requested on behalf of the establishment's management, and is at the sole discretion of PlacesForAfrica.com. RACK rates will always be provided.

By submitting an application to PlacesForAfrica.com, whether it be via our online application form, fax or email, you agree that you have read and understood these terms and conditions, and that you (and the establishment that you may represent) are bound by these terms and conditions.

PlacesForAfrica.com reserves the right to make amendments to its terms from time to time, and states that the most recent terms will always be made available on its main website.

As a client of PlacesForAfrica.com the following Terms and Conditions of Advertising apply:


1) Advertising Costs and Duration

• New clients listing between the 1st January and the 31st May 2008 will receive their first 6 months of advertising for free.
• The subsequent yearly subscription fee will be based on the effectiveness of the client's advert during the promotional period or preceding year (whichever is relevant). This will comprise the number of bookings and enquiries received (regardless of conversion), as well as contact details requested. It does not refer to the number of hits or visits to the advert.
  Contact details requested are included in the tally that makes up "enquiries", as our system provides for capturing of the visitor's details during such a request, thereby allowing the establishment to increase its potential client base.
• There are no additional nor monthly costs.
• All subscription fees are to be paid for in advance, and are valid for one full year from the indicated due date on the invoice.
• PlacesForAfrica.com takes NO commission for bookings; any revenue generated is for the client to keep in full.

2) Entitlements

As a client of PlacesForAfrica.com you are entitled to the following:

• Your own 4 page "mini" website, which includes the following:
  - a main page (showcasing your establishment's full description, list of facilities, photographs and contact details request)
  - a rates page
  - an online enquiry and bookings form (any enquiry or booking will go directly to you)
  - as well as a directions page
• A unique web address (use it as your personal website and / or advertise it on business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
• Statistical tracking
• Free updates (where deemed reasonable)
• Benefits from PlacesForAfrica's online promotions.
  This includes search engine optimisation and pay-per-click campaigns.
• Free entry onto our sister (partner) sites, as well as on PlacesForAfrica Mobile (for cellular browsing).

3) Company Rights and Exclusions

• PlacesForAfrica.com reserves the right to withdraw or refuse any application it deems inappropriate, or that is in conflict with its terms and conditions as stated herein.
• PlacesForAfrica.com reserves the right to edit any advertisement as it sees fit in order to comply with the site's design and layout
  specifications, and includes but is not limited to text, images and logos.
• Linking to external (third party) websites from within a client's advert is not permitted.
• Only one establishment / holiday accommodation may be listed under the establishment's name.

Should a client have more the one establishment, these will have to be applied for separately, and under different names.
This also applies to establishments whose free standing units / dwellings may have different descriptions and/or facilities,
and/or accreditations.
• Establishments will only be listed in their actual location (or nearest town).
  Listings in more than one town are only permitted where establishments are within close proximity of such specified towns,
  and is at the sole discretion of PlacesForAfrica.com.

4) Copyright

• All content, including but not limited to: text, images, logos as well as design concept and layout remains the exclusive
  property of PlacesForAfrica.com and its parent company HostSite CC.
• None of the aforementioned may be copied, distributed or utilised in anyway without the explicit prior consent of PlacesForAfrica.com and its management.
• All clients consent that their content (text, images and logos) that forms part of their accommodation's listing is free from copyright infringement, and is made available for PlacesForAfrica.com to use as it sees fit. Any infringement arising as a result of the use of this content will hold the client liable, and not PlacesForAfrica.com. PlacesForAfrica.com and its parent company HostSite CC will be exempt in this regard.

5) Content Information

• Only content that is accurate, up to date and relevant to the establishment in question will be published.
• Only RACK rates may be displayed with the advertisement, no STO or other rates will be permitted.
• PlacesForAfrica.com reserves the right to withdraw any content that misrepresents the establishment, or misleads the visitor.
  Such conduct may lead to immediate cancellation of the establishment from the website(s) without question or refund.

6) Renewals

• All subscription fees are to be paid for in advance, and are valid for one full year from the indicated due date of the invoice.
• Clients will be informed approximately 3 weeks prior to their advertisement's expiration date, that their advertisement is due for renewal. Please note: failure to notify us of your intent with regards to the continuation of a listing will tantamount to an implicit renewal, and the relevant fee will be due.
• PlacesForAfrica.com reserves the right to suspend or remove an establishment from its website(s) due to outstanding balances.
• Advertisements may not be placed "on hold" to be reinstated at a later stage.

7) Updates

• The onus is on the client to furnish PlacesForAfrica.com with accurate and up to date content and rates.
  PlacesForAfrica.com will not be held responsible for out of date information, nor for following up on clients.
• Updates are done by PlacesForAfrica.com free of charge (where deemed reasonable).
• Please note the following:
  - Rate changes are usually done within 3 working days (however this is subject to our queuing system, and may be extended)
  - Text and photographic changes usually take between 5 - 10 working days.
• Updates should only be requested via email for your protection.
  We will only accept changes from an email address associated with the particular establishment / client.
• Where an update is requested via fax, a telephonic confirmation will be conducted first.
• We DO NOT accept direct telephonic updates.

8) Cancellations

• Cancellations made to adverts during a particular year cycle (or promotional period) and before the end of such cycle, will forfeit the right to advertise to the completion date thereof. PlacesForAfrica.com reserves the right to remove any application with immediate effect and without refund in such circumstance.
• Cancellations may ONLY be made in written form, either by fax or email.
  If appropriate, a telephonic confirmation will then be conducted by one of our sales agents with the respective client.
• Client subscription fees are non-refundable.
