The Pilanesberg National Park which joins up with the resort is which is situated in an enormous crater made by an ancient volcano. Today most of the original crater has been eroded away due to the farming of the fertile soils found in this remarkable game reserve. The park has a portfolio of bird and wildlife and you're sure to see most, if not all of the big five animals. A self drive during the day is sure to reveal rhino, elephant, buffalo and many antelope species. Enjoy scenic hiking trails through the beautiful conservation area at Kgaswana Nature Reserve, which is located only 5 minutes away from the crest of the Magalies mountain range. Located an hour South East of Rustenburg is one of the most remarkable fossil sites in the world, the "Cradle of Humankind". The Magalies World Heritage Site and the Cradle has yielded some of the world's most important hominid finds. The Waterfall Mall Shopping Centre and many family restaurants are also situated close by.
