Travel back in time, return to an era of mystique and magical Africa, as you relive the excitement and romance of traditional Zulu culture. Adventure and excitement will prowl on your doorstep as you encounter Stewarts Farm Kwabehkithunga, an enriching experience affording a better understanding of the Zulu nation, its people and their intriguing customs. Stewarts Farm is the oldest Zulu village in KwaZulu-Natal and is now officially owned by the local tribal trust.
Stewarts Farm, situated in the heart of Zululand near Eshowe and Empangeni, offers both a cultural village and overnight accommodation where visitors are able to enjoy an authentic African cultural experience when they stay in traditional, ethnic accommodation. Rooms are typical beehive huts, decorated in ethnic fabrics and tribal memorabilia. Facilities include en-suite bathrooms with showers, fans and tea / coffee making facilities.
A guide will accompany guests on a tour of the village and will also answer questions and provide insights into the heritage and culture of the Zulu Nation. Witness the traditional customs such as tribal dancing while the importance of the kraal, social structure, traditional dress, regalia, crops and food, hut building and the role of women and children are all explained. Stewarts Farm also has a venue called "The Snake Pit" which can be used for conferences, end of the year functions and weddings. The venue’s unique structure gives you the feeling of being surrounded by nature. |
