Southey Cottage offers self catering accommodation (breakfast optional) in Upper Claremont and is centrally situated with easy access to the highway, UCT, Newlands Rugby / Cricket, Kirstenbosch, Cavendish Square and fine restaurants. Our four double en-suite rooms each have their own entrance, kitchenette, sitting area, ADSL internet, satellite TV (DSTV), telephone, heated towel rails, hairdryer, shaving plug, fan and heater.
"Angus's" room is a spaciously appointed suite with a mini kitchenette. Visitors park their car directly outside their very own private front entrance. The "View" room is a beautiful suite with a magnificent view of the mountain from its balcony. The suite contains many facilities which includes a small bar fridge, kettle, satellite television, hairdryer, heated towel rails and tea / coffee making facilities. The "Cottage" has is a bedroom with a double bed. Our regular guests refer to it as the "honeymoon suite". It has a private front door and access to the garden and pool area. "Philip's" room is a lovely suite with its balcony overlooking the pool and it has a view of the mountains above Kirstenbosch and it also has a cosy kitchenette.
Breakfast is served in the sunny breakfast room. There are many restaurants close by. Small kitchenettes enable guests to self cater or use a delivery service for light meals. Our lovely sheltered garden has a saltwater swimming pool, trampoline and a superb mountain view. Secure parking behind automatic motorised gates is available to our guests. The bed and breakfast is situated only 15 minutes away from the Cableway, V&A Waterfront, beaches, golf courses, Constantia Wine Estates, Hout Bay and Cape Town International Airport. |
