Sonnedroom is 23km outside Bela-Bela on the Thabazimbi road, 1.5 hours drive from Pretoria and 2 hours from Johannesburg.
From the N1 highway going to Polokwane, take the Bela-Bela off-ramp. At the T-junction you will see O’Hagans, turn right over the bridge. Take the left slip way at the next stop street into Chris Hani Road and pass the Warmbaths Forever Resort. Go left at the circle onto the Thabazimbi road.
After you have passed Mbizi and Engweni Lodge, keep going straight until you see the Nyl Stene sign on the left hand side. At the Saamwerk shop, where the road makes a turn, turn right towards the mountain onto the gravel road at the first Sonnedroom sign. Turn right onto the gravel road at the second Sonnedroom sign. Keep going up to the mountain and Sonnedroom Lodge is the last property on the right before the road turns to the left. |
