This beautiful home was built as a parsonage circa 1880 in the days when families were large and country life in South Africa was relaxed. It has retained this air of relaxation and has been enhanced by modern comforts and facilities in our well appointed en-suite bedrooms.

The house stands on a hectare of land with a river boundary and landscaped gardens in the front and back where guests are welcome to enjoy the mountain scenery, with vistas of the Sleeping Beauty mountain peak, the icon of Riversdale, and after which our guest house is named. Once you have seen her profile you will never forget her beauty. Riversdale is the centre of one of the six floral kingdoms of the world, the proteas and fynbos in bloom are an unforgettable sight. We are situated close to many attractions making it an ideal situation for exploring this wonderful part of the Cape. The whale nursery at Witsand near the mouth of the Breede River is 60km away. Still Bay with its safe swimming beaches that go on forever is only a short 30 minute drive away. There are spectacular passes over the Langeberg which can be explored, all within an hour's drive of Riversdale.
