Settlers Hill Cottages consists of two settler style homes, Jasmine Cottage at 71 Hill Street and Settlers Hill Manor at 42 Market Street both situated in the older historic part of Grahamstown. They are centrally placed, being a 5 minute walk from the center of town and within easy reach of the schools, museums and university. Every effort has been made to restore and furnish these two houses in traditional 1820 style. They have large rooms with period furniture, wooden floors, sash windows and high ceilings. Both houses contain ample tourist literature and information on things to do in Grahamstown with lists of restaurants, museums, game farms, historic sites in the region. The lovely beaches of Port Alfred and Kenton-On-Sea are a 40 minute drive away, through typical Eastern Cape farm scenery and past small hamlets that date back to the 1820 settlers.

Jasmine Cottage has three bedrooms, with en-suite bathrooms and guests also have the use of a lounge, dining room, and fully equipped kitchen for self catering purposes. In addition, there is a self contained garden flatlet with its own bathroom and kitchenette. Jasmine Cottage is ideal for families visiting Grahamstown, or for Arts Festival visitors, who wish to self cater for groups of up to 8 people.

Settlers Hill Manor is a large gracious family home with six bedrooms, all having either private or en-suite bathrooms, and is situated in a large well tended garden. This is a quiet part of town, so guests are assured of a good night's sleep undisturbed by traffic noise. Breakfasts are served in a spacious lounge, dining room which also has sofas, easy chairs, books and magazines for relaxation. Guests regularly remark on the furnishings and relaxed, old style ambience of the spacious rooms in Settlers Hill Manor.
