DESCRIPTION:

At the foot of the famous Sani Pass and bordering the renowned Drakensberg World Heritage site, lies the unique and tranquil Sani Valley Lodge. Surrounded by 700 hectares of unspoilt grasslands supporting a full range of indigenous wildlife, the spacious private lodges overlook Lifton Lake, where superb trout fishing, boating and birding are enjoyed. Lodges are fully serviced by highly trained staff. All catering options are available on request. Activities at the lodge and in the surrounding areas include fly fishing, hiking, birding, boating, game drives and the ultimate experience - a trip up the famous Sani Pass.

This new luxury full or semi-catering accommodation gives you a private and highly personal experience with unobtrusive lodge services. You may choose a cook to prepare your meals for you, or, if you wish, you can choose to cook your own meals using your chalet's modern kitchens. All the lodges offer a spacious and open lounge / dining room and fully equipped kitchen. Whether in your bedroom or in the lounge, you simply have to step out through the large sliding door onto the private verandah to get a panoramic view of the lake and the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains. In winter you can enjoy the comfort of a cosy fireplace in the lounge, electric blankets, overhead heating along with heated towel rails in the bathrooms. Yet, despite all this comfort Sani Valley retains a true and relaxed country atmosphere.

Sani Valley is the perfect spot for a sundown cruise, an early morning cruise or a refreshing swim in the afternoon. There are 5 fishing boats available for guests to use. If fishing boats are not for you, then you can try out one of the Kyac canoes. The Sani Valley conservancy has been stocked with game indigenous to the area. The valley is visited by many of the endangered species including crowned and the very rare wattled crane. Bald and secred ibis are often seen while the secretary birds have made their home in the lone tree in the conservation area. Enjoy your birding experience at Sani Valley.
