Sangweni Lodge Bed and Breakfast is dedicated to creating an excellent traditional hospitality service and to promoting the tourism industry both nationally and internationally. It is also dedicated to the creation of links with tour operators and emerging traditional B&B's.

There are lots of tourist attractions around this small country town of Alice (just 20km from Fort Beaufort). Attractions include the Dr Stuart Monument (the founder of Fort Hare), the University of Fort Hare itself, Binfield Park Dam (situated 14km from Alice where fishing can be done by arrangement), the Double Drift Game Reserve (about 20km from the lodge featuring numerous wildlife species), and various adventure tours (ranging from the Magic Forest, to Waterfall and Xhosa country). All efforts are being made to service and restore these tourist attractions, hence the establishment of Sangweni Lodge Bed & Breakfast. The lodge is named after the clan of the Amangwane Tribe from where the Mkosana family derives.

The lodge is about 2km from the University of Fort Hare, and 3km from the famous Victoria Hospital - established in 1898 during Queen Victoria's Diamond jubilee. It is also 200 meters from the railway station and only 50 meters from the health clinic.
