The River View Cottages overlook a sweeping bend in the Gamka River. The 3 cottages are situated in the Matjiesvlei valley on The River Farm near Calitzdorp in the heart of a 3 World Biodiversity Hotspots in the Little Karoo. Each cottage is self catering and self contained consisting of a bedroom with double bed & an en-suite bathroom. Each living room contains a lounge area, dining table and a fully equipped kitchen. The cottages have indoor fireplaces and outdoor braais (barbecues).
Additional accommodation is available at The Old School House, a free-standing Victorian building which sleeps up to 6 people. It has three bedrooms (two of which have a double bed and the third has two single beds), one bathroom (with both a shower and a bath) and a large open plan lounge / kitchen / dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped. We only take one booking at a time, so you occupy the entire building.
Come and enjoy walking amongst the Karoo Koppies, swimming and fishing in the river, the wildlife and livestock of The River Farm and the view from your stoep of the river and the expansive Swartberg Mountain Range. At the end of the day, watch the sunset and the stars appear as you braai (barbecue) in the boma. |
