Ribbokkloof is the ideal place, to break away from the hustle and bustle of the city life! It is situated about 45km from Middleburg. This place is great for nature lovers, as we love to boost about the "untouched" nature and lush vegetation. There are over 181 species of different kinds of birds, as this place is a bird watchers paradise! The small Mountain Reedbuck can also be spotted amongst the chalets. These chalets are situated in a beautiful valley on the farm which consists of 1070 hectares of farm land. This owner of farm is very proud of his land, where the main farming activity to date is a Bonsmara stud: Gelykwater Bonsmara.
This is the place where families and friends can relax and recharge their batteries by enjoying the peaceful surroundings and company of one another. We have various self catering chalets available, an inverter system is used for lighting and gas fridges, stoves and geysers. We do supply linen, all that you have to bring with is your own towels. There is one 12 bed chalet, two 6 bed chalets and three 2 bed chalets (double bed for 2 adults). Each chalet has its own private braai (barbecue) area. There are camping and caravanning sites with ablution facilities (including hot water) and braai areas. In addition, accommodation is also provided for the "Green Flag" hiking trail that consists of a circle of networked routes, leading through the surrounding mountains, scenic waterfalls and beautiful species of fauna and flora (Day 1 - 9.5km and Day 2 - 6.7km). The hiking trail accommodation consists of one 12 bed chalet, an overnight lapa with mattresses and ablution facilities. There is an overnight shelter called the "bushpig" shelter which is also available for the hikers.
We have a challenging 30km 4x4 track, where the drives can really test their safari skills! Quad bikes and off road motor bikes are also welcome. The quad bike routes are designed to be adventurous as they vary in length (between 2 - 6 hours). There are also two mountain bike trails. Guests can cool off at the swimming pool on those hot summer days, or just enjoy a lovely walk. You are welcome to bring along your fishing rod as well and test your fishing skills in our 10ha dam which is the home of black bass that is up to 5kg.
