Head north along the N7 from Cape Town and under two hours you will reach Petersfield Farm near Citrusdal where a 2000 hectare unspoilt mountain wilderness area has been set apart for four self catering cottages. These lovely remote cottages are set a few kilometers apart in the mountain for total privacy end each boasts its own private plunge pool to cool off during the hot summer months.
Romantic "De Kom" cottage is set deeper into the mountain and commands a view down into the valley and over the Cederberg. De Kom is gas operated for a romantic ambiance and offers a fireplace, two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and sitting room. A covered stoep adjacent to the pool and braai (barbecue) area completes the picture! "Dassieklip" is a log cabin secreted at the end of an avenue of majestic oaks. A sparkling blue pool next to a mountain stream invites guests to spend lazy hours relaxing.
"Die Veepos" is our new Sandveld style three bedroomed cottage set in its own valley. Also gas operated and with all the luxury you need, Die Veepos has an additional secret "bush bathroom" to indulge your fantasies! Inside are reed ceilings and screeded floors in the sitting room which lead onto a covered stoep and braai (barbecue) area flanked by a black plunge pool with white river stones! The huge sandstone outcrop that stands guards over this cottage is home to countless dassies and exquisite fynbos.
"Stonehaven" is a private cottage perched high in the mountains with spectacular views over the valley below and the surrounding fynbos. Stonehaven's interior is luxurious and tastefully decorated. There is a queen size bed in the sleeping area adjacent to the bathroom equipped with a shower and toilet. An open plan lounge with fireplace and a well-equipped kitchenette makes your stay relaxing and convenient. This cottage is the ideal place for all couples who are seeking a romantic getaway in a secret location.
There is a remote farm dam higher up in the mountains where guests can picnic, swim or row. Indigenous wildlife abounds it this pristine area, so it bring lots of leisure time and leaving you totally relaxed. Petersfield Farm is only 5km from the town of Citrusdal which offers shops and restaurants. |
