A small fisherman's village on the West Coast, 150km north of Cape Town, on the R27, got its name from prayers said by shipwrecked sailors. "Patre Nostre", today Paternoster, translated from Latin means "Our Father". This beautiful and tranquil fisherman's village with its white painted fishing cottages is a gift from "Our Father" to be enjoyed by all. Guests can just relax and recharge their body and soul, go for long strolls on the white sandy beach, and enjoy fresh fish and crayfish (November - April) sold by the local fisherman. Come and enjoy the spectacular sunsets and the friendly hospitality of the residents of Paternoster! During the months of July to September, the landscape is changed into a breathtaking view of wild veld flowers in full bloom.
On the upper level of the establishment, we have 2 open plan fully equipped self catering units, which are situated a mere 30 meters from the beach. The units cater for only 2 people per unit. Each unit is equipped with a queen size bed, bar fridge, cutlery, crockery, pots, toaster, kettle, microwave and a 2 plate stove with an oven. The bathroom has a shower only. Bedding and bath towels are provided. On the ground level, we have 1 cosy fully equipped self catering unit, with its own little garden and weber braai (barbecue). The unit is equipped with a queen size bed, bar fridge, cutlery, crockery, toaster, kettle, microwave and a 2 plate stove (no oven). The bathroom has a shower only. Bedding and bath towels are also provided. TV channels available in each unit include Movie Magic 1 & 2, Super Sport, M-Net, SABC and e-TV.
You have a magnificent view over the beach, from where you can watch spectacular sunsets, while you braai (barbecue) and enjoy a glass or two of the locally brewed wines. All you need to bring is your own beach towels, food and drink. The town of Paternoster is situated close to the Columbine Nature Reserve, Cape Columbine Lighthouse, Tieties Bay, Darling, Langebaan, St Helena Bay and the Swartland Wine Route.
