Information about Out of Afrika Guest Lodge

At the foot of the ancient Magaliesburg Mountain range where once elephant had roamed, 70km from Johannesburg in the Western Transvaal, lies an unique experience in African hospitality. The lodge has five individually decorated double storey thatched cottages, each sleeping 2 - 4 people. The beautiful designed suites have brass beds, lovely linen, original art works, fresh flowers and hand crafted tea sets. La Provence Guest Lodge is "a bit of Provence in Africa" and it is also situated on the premises. The lodge has 7 suites with two large fireplaces, a small library and a wonderful pub.

Listen to the mournful call of the peacock in the heart of the Magalies Valley - a natural bird sanctuary with 169 recorded bird species to listen to. Explore and experience the nearby game farms on an afternoon game drive or walking trails, trout fishing, horse riding, crafts and koi farms. The small quaint antique and decor shops conclude a wonderful day's outing.

For those guests looking for some more culture they may visit our brand new restored restaurants, the Goblin's Cove and the Faerie Winkle has magic goblin cuisine, architecture, sculptures and paintings. The well known sculptor Charles Gotthard has a beautiful studio at the Out of Afrika Guest Lodge, where he conducts art and sculpture workshops as well as art therapy talks and workshops. Breakfast can be taken at our small restaurant or as a champagne brunch picnic basket at the river. Nowhere else can you be spoilt by such personal service, magic food and wines.
