Information about Die Ou Pastorie

Die Ou Pastorie is a unique guest house and restaurant situated in Skeerpoort, Magaliesberg. Built around an original 1880's pastoral home and set in magnificent gardens at the foot of an old mountain range. At once combining vibrant vintage with eclectic fusion décor, Die Ou Pastorie showcases both cultural tradition and creative flair.

Guests are invited to explore the myriad pathways of our garden, interspersed with secluded groves and seated vistas, before delighting in a sumptuous meal. The restaurant offers traditional Italian and South African cuisine. Our private chef combines flavour and diversity to create a fusion menu that is decadently different. The dining rooms are furnished with comfortable couches, floor cushions, rocking chairs and library - to provide an atmosphere of warmth and informality. Guests are accommodated in eight individually appointed garden suites, all with views of the Magaliesberg Mountains. Each suite follows a unique theme, with funky, mismatching light fittings, materials and décor providing an eccentric yet welcoming ambience. All rooms are en-suite with private balconies, and embody both the serenity and vibrancy of Die Ou Pastorie.

The lodge also offers the ideal environment for a romantic weekend respite from the world at large, or as a country base from which to explore historic sites, cultural market places and adventure activities. According to its ethos, Die Ou Pastorie provides an atmosphere of serenity and consciousness to visitors, through the combination of local produce, vibrant design, culinary excellence and warm, organic hospitality. It is an exercise in living gracefully - a conscious choice...
