Situated in Montagu, the heart of Route 62, and just two hours from Cape Town, Mimosa Lodge is the perfect place to relax, unwind and explore.
The Lodge is a delightful retreat with an enviable reputation for personal attention, hospitality and care. Relax from your day’s activities in the oasis-like Garden; enjoying a refreshing swim, a game of Boule; or relax in one of the stylish Art Deco lounges.
The 11 bedrooms and 12 suites are each quaint, different and tastefully decorated. The main building dates back to 1859 and has been carefully renovated to combine old world charm with today’s modern luxuries. All rooms are en-suite. All suites are situated in the garden with spectacular mountain views. Each has their own patio or balcony and hi-fi in the room.
Mimosa’s Multiple Award Winning Restaurant is renowned for its superb cuisine, run by owner-chef Bernhard Hess, the emphasis is on local, fresh seasonal produce. Most vegetables and herbs are grown in our own extensive garden. Mimosa Lodge received the American Express Platinum Fine Dining Award for 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011 as well as their Blazon from the Chaine Des Rotisseurs, The AA Travel Fabulous Food Award, Voted top 15 in the Eat Out’s People’s Choice Awards.
Mimosa Fine Boutique wines are handcrafted by award winning Swiss chef, Bernhard Hess and boutique winemaker, Lourens van der Westhuizen. The wines feature a complexity that meets balance to create elegance in a bottle. Mimosa Wines are also reaping awards, with 4 Stars in the John Platter for both the Chardonnay 2009 & Shiraz 2008. The Mimosa Wines comprises of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and a heady Shiraz. Complexity meets balance to create elegance in a bottle. Seduction for the tongue.
