Makuti Lodge is set in peaceful and tranquil surroundings, where guests and visitors can have a restful time away from the madding crowd of the city, high up on the back slopes of Table Mountain with mountain walks on your doorstep. The lodge offers comfortable accommodation in 1, 2 and 3 bedroomed cottages. They are all tastefully and individually decorated and provide comfort, relaxation and a homely atmosphere.

The private cottages each have their own patios and personal gardens. They are set in an extensive 2 acre natural garden with secretive places where guests can rest, unwind and watch the birdlife or have a relaxing swim. The wood burning Godin fireplaces add warmth and cosiness in the winter months, when the walking trails up to the cascading waterfalls are very popular. Peter and Doreen encourage walking and on occasion they will invite guests to join them for wine tasting in the well stocked cellar.

Makuti Lodge is situated approximately 4km from Constantia Nek, 2km from the World of Birds and within 6km from the Hout Bay beach and village with its many restaurants. The lodge is also situated 20km from the Cape Town city centre and the V&A Waterfront, 10km from the Constantia shopping centre and Constantia wine estates. It is situated approximately 15 minutes from the Table Mountain cable car, 35 minutes from Cape Point and about 40 minutes from the major wine routes in Paarl, Stellenbosch and Somerset West. Many guests enjoy staying in Hout Bay because it is centrally position with respect to the major tourist attractions of Cape Town and its environment.
