Makanyane Safari Lodge is a luxurious game lodge, ideally situated on 1800 hectares of private ground within the 75 000 hectare malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. This dramatic reserve is home to lion, leopard, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, wild dog, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, as well as a host of general game species. Over 360 bird species are also found here.
At Makanyane the emphasis is placed on exciting game viewing, outstanding accommodation and excellent cuisine. The lodge caters for a total of sixteen guests, ensuring personal attention and exclusivity. Each luxurious suite has spectacular glass-walled bedrooms, offering guests uninterrupted views of the surrounding forest and the Marico River. Each suite has a lounge, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, private viewing deck and a sun deck with a spectacular view of the surrounding bush.

Single accommodation attracts a supplement of an additional 50% of the quoted tariff

The public rates are quoted in South African Rand, whilst payment may be made in any international currency.
There are daily scheduled flights to Madikwe Game Reserve from Johannesburg. Air transfers and road transfers can be arranged.

Policies:
1. All bookings are subject to Makanyane Safari Lodge cancellation policy which is:
Days prior to arrival: 90 to 46 days = 25%, 45 to 29 days = 50%, 28 days or less = 100%.
2. For all bookings a 25% deposit is required within 7 days of making the reservation. Please note that a reservation is not secure until a deposit is received. Makanyane reserves the right to automatically release any accommodation being held where the required deposit has not been received within the stated period. All rates quoted are subject to change without notice.
3. Booking information, such as any special dietary requirements, allergies or medical conditions, guest's contact number (if possible) and the estimated time of arrival at the lodge needs to be communicated well in advance of arrival at the lodge.
Methods of payment accepted: Cash, Credit Card (Visa, Master, American Express, Diners Club), Direct Deposit, EFT and Cheque.
To secure the booking, a 25% deposit is required with the first week of making the booking.
The balance is required 30 days prior to arrival.

The first route (approximately 3.5 hours driving time) travels via Sun City to the Makanyane private entrance. This route travels over approximately 90km of gravel road. Detailed directions and map are available on request.
The second route (about 5 hours driving time) travels via the towns of Rustenburg and Zeerust. Detailed directions and map are available on request.
Makanyane's private gate will be attended in anticipation of guest's arrival. Please advise the lodge of your estimated time of arrival when making your booking. If possible, it would be greatly appreciated if you could confirm your time of arrival while en-route to the lodge.
Makanyane is approximately 60 kilometres from Gaborone, Botswana.
