| DESCRIPTION: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Mai's comfortable air-conditioned 19th century home in the tranquil village of Prince Albert is an ideal place to sit back and relax and it has been awarded a three star rating by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. Mai offers a choice of four comfortable, air-conditioned, spacious bedrooms with their own en-suite bathrooms with shower facilities. Two of the rooms have a double and a single bed - ideal for families. The other two bedrooms each have a double bed. All rooms have a fridge / freezer for cold drinks, and everything you need to make tea or coffee. Mai's hearty breakfast consists of fruit juice, a wide choice of muesli and cereals, yoghurt, milk and cheese from Gay's Dairy, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and tea or coffee and locally made jams and preserves, with fruit in season. Breakfast is served in a sunny courtyard under the vines or in front of the original Dover stove. Mai's Guest Lodge lends itself to relaxing - guests can take a dip in the sparkling pool in its sheltered courtyard, laze on the front verandah or in the cosy lounge. Massage treatments, reiki and facials are also available at the guest lodge. Prince Albert offers art galleries, craft shops, star gazing with an astronomer, a ghost walk, two wine cellars, farm visits, 4x4 and hiking trails. Guests can take day trips into the Swartberg Pass, to Oudtshoorn and the Karoo National Park. Mai can recommend various coffee shops and restaurants for teas, light lunches and delicious dinners. |
