| DESCRIPTION: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This sixty-five year old hotel was rebuilt after a fire in 2004. Guests and visitors arriving at the Magoebaskloof Hotel are greeted by an attractive entrance square with a magnificent mural and the bronze bust of King Makgoba. This opens out onto the expansive view of this legendary leader's famous valley and the hazy distance of the Lowveld. The Coffee Bean coffee shop has a balcony area for al fresco dining with indoor seating and a comfortable lounge section with cozy fireplace. All day light snacks and meals and tempting cakes and freshly squeezed orange juice and gourmet coffees are available. The impressive Tlou Restaurant has an extensive à la Carte menu to tempt your palate, as well as the ever popular Table d'Hôte meals. The Phoenix & Fireman Pub delivers a particularly special vibe. Pub lunches are served daily and digital widescreen sport is offered. The Red Post Box Pub has big screen TV, and is great for the younger crowd with pool table and darts. There is a choice of family rooms, double rooms or spacious optional self catering 2-bedroomed apartments. Under construction are 7 houses, each with 3 double bedrooms en-suite, and thus the capacity of the hotel will be increased to sleep a total of 120 by March 2007. There are three conference and function rooms catering for up to 220 people. Other on site facilities include squash, bowls, swimming pool and forest walks. Birding is spectacular in this pristine Afro-montane forest environment. For families, business travellers, conference delegates, romantic couples, weddings and much more, Magoebaskloof Hotel and the area certainly has a huge amount to offer. |
