Lupela Lodge is situated in a peaceful and scenic valley in the Witteberg Mountains on the farm camp, 17.5km from Lady Grey. Here you have the opportunity to do fishing, day hikes, swimming, bird watching and mountain biking or just relaxing.

The weather may vary from very cold with snowfalls in winter to very hot summers with thunderstorms. There is a spacious self catering cottage with 5 en-suite bedrooms sleeping maximum of 10 people. It has a fully equipped kitchen with hot water, a electric stove fridge and a microwave. The cottage has lounge with big fireplace and a pub area and outside braai (barbecue) facilities. It overlooks the river and it has a beautiful view of the mountains. All the beds have electric blankets in the winter and all the necessary bedding and towels are provided. Mountain Rheebuck can be seen from the porch with binoculars.

We offer day hikes only, returning to base camp every night. Hikes may vary from very easy to challenging into the mountains or next to the river with breathtaking scenery. The Karnemelkspruit river flows for 7km through the property and you can enjoy fishing at one of the best trout streams in the country. Take a relaxing swim in the crystal clear mountain pools on a hot summer day. A wide variety of birds are to be seen in this area including the black eagle and bearded vulture.
