If you are looking for a taste of "Africa in the suburbs" - you've found the right place! Kulanga Cottages B&B have been hosting regular guests since 2000, offering a unique African experience. We are situated in the well established, quiet suburb of Linden, yet a stone's throw away from the heart of our vibrant "Jozi", and close to all major freeways and tourist attractions.
A beautiful tranquil garden is the perfect setting to enjoy the wondrous proliferation of African birdlife! Our four thatch cottages which all have their own unique contemporary African ambiance, are situated in such a way that complete privacy is ensured.
Our cottages 'LANGA' and 'NYANGA' have twin beds, a kitchenette and private bathroom with double basins and a luxuriously spacious shower. Our stunning new air-conditioned honeymoon / family cottage, 'UMNDENI', can accommodate four in two double beds in an open plan setup. It has a private bathroom with shower as well as an enormous bath with mosaic inlay. Also new is our comfortable cottage 'KUNYE', with a double bed and private bathroom with shower.
There is a great variety of popular (half) day-trips in and around Johannesburg to be experienced, and we will gladly book these for you. Airport transfers as well as car hire by prior arrangement. We are conveniently close to Conference Centres, Theatres, Art Galleries, Hospitals, & Universities. Major shopping malls and sports clubs are also nearby.

#1: From the airport follow signs to Johannesburg - This will take you onto the R24. #2: Follow R24 until road signs direct you to the N3. #3: Take N3 north and follow signs to get to N3 north Pretoria. #4: Follow N3 north until it becomes the N1 south Roodepoort. (Do not take the turnoff to Pretoria N1 north). #5: Take third turnoff, Hans Strydom Drive. Turn left at traffic light. #6: Continue on Hans Strydom Drive. Becomes single road. #7: At large traffic circle with a Toyota Garage on the right hand side, turn left into Third Avenue, and left into Sixth Street.
From Bloemfontain / Cape Town
#1: Follow N1 north Pretoria. #2: Take Gordon Road turnoff. Right at the traffic light. #3: Cross N1 . Stay on gordon Road until it ends in single road at a traffic light with slip road to the left. #4: Turn left on the slip road into Long Road. #5: Stay on Long Road. It will cross Beyers Naude Drive (formerly DF Malan Drive) as Milner Street. Milner Street becomes Fifth Street. #6: Turn right into Second Avenue. #7: Turn left into Sixth Street.
