Hiking and birding trails leading from the guest house traverse scenic landscapes and a diversity of habitats. One of the best birding spots in the Soutpansberg, Roodewal Forestry Reserve, is adjacent to the property. Nearby attractions include Lake Fundudzi, Tate Vondo Holy Forest, Dzata Ruins, and the Albasini Dam. Trips to these places can be arranged – including guides. Khaya Guest House is only 120km from Punda Maria, which makes it a convenient stop over to this northern gate of the Kruger National Park.
