| DESCRIPTION: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Inyati Private Game Reserve is situated in the world acclaimed Sabi Sand Game Reserve, adjoining the Kruger National Park. Inyati (meaning "buffalo" in Shangaan – the language of the local people), is home to this powerful breed along with the rest of the Big Five. Ten luxury, air-conditioned, thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms offer the discerning traveller a welcome retreat after a day of being at one with nature. By limiting the lodge to ten chalets, Inyati is able to cater for individual preferences when it comes to meal times and venues, with breakfasts and candle-lit dinners deep in the bush proving most popular. Tranquility and service excellence are the hallmarks of Inyati. Hand-picked staff will tend to your every need. There is a swimming pool and a fully equipped, air-conditioned gym. "Tree Tops" is a small serene conference centre guarded by giant, leafy trees. For the anglers, fishing facilities and assistance are available in the Sand River. Skilled rangers and experienced trackers share some of their bushveld secrets. A dawn or dusk game drive in a specially equipped, open Land Rover or a thrilling foot safari are the ideal ways to experience this unique African theatre. A close encounter with the Big Five in their natural habitat is an awe-inspiring life experience. |

| DIRECTIONS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A map or road atlas will assist with these directions. Please allow for appoximately 5 hours driving time from Johannesburg (480km), also, you will go through two toll gates following this route: If travelling from the north of Johannesburg Take the M1 North and just before reaching Pretoria, take the Pietersburg turnoff and follow the signposts to Witbank and the N4. Pass Witbank and continue to Middelburg. If travelling from the south or centre of Johannesburg Take the R22 (N12) to Benoni and pass Witbank and continue to Middelburg. Proceed on the N4 highway past Belfast, Machadodorp, Waterval Boven and Nelspruit. When approaching Nelspruit, at the second set of traffic lights turn left taking the R40 to White River (Witrivier). At the very first set of traffic lights in White River turn left, there will be a school on the left. Proceed to the next set of traffic lights about a block down the road and turn right. Continue straight down this road, at the traffic lights by the Caltex Garage you will turn left towards Hazyview. On approaching Hazyview there is a steep down hill towards a T-junction. Turn left at this T-junction. Proceed through Hazyview past a Garage until you reach a set of traffic lights with a thatched shopping center on your right. Turn right here on to Paul Kruger Road at the Kruger Gate sign, this is the R536. Continue along this road for appoximately 34.5km. There will be a sign on the left showing the following lodge names: Exeter, Idube, Inyati and Ulusaba. Just beyond this first sign there will be lodge signboards for Inyati and various other lodges on the left where you will turn left onto the sand road. (If the Mala Mala, Sabi Sabi and Londolozi sign is reached, or the Kruger Gate itself, you have gone too far andmust turn back to look for the correct sign.) From this point the way is well sign posted with the lodge signboards. The sand road has potholes and corrugations and also goes past some villages, so please drive carefully. There is approximately 12km of sand road, after which you will arrive at the Newington Gate entrance of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Please Note: There is a cash entry fee of R70 per vehicle at the gate. At Newington Gate follow the sign showing Inyati to the left for approximately 12km to the lodge through the reserve. The access road to the lodge is well signposted. |
