Hillwatering Country House is located in a quiet and peaceful residential area just a couple of minutes from the restaurants and the centre of Sabie. At Hillwatering we offer our guests 5 very spacious bedrooms all with their own bathrooms. Some rooms have queen beds and others twin beds (three-quarter size). From four of these bedrooms you can step outside through the French doors onto a verandah, where you can sit and enjoy the clean mountain air, spectacular views of the mountains and forest clad slopes, and the 70m high Bridal Veil Falls.
All the verandahs look onto the garden where we encourage the local birds with our huge variety of plants and flowers. In the summer we serve our English and Continental breakfasts on the verandahs, (weather permitting), if the morning is chilly we move inside by the log fire. We can also arrange a 3 course evening meal (minimum 4 persons, must be pre-booked) and a packed picnic breakfast if you require an early start for a trip to the park or to your next destination.
We are less than 4 hours from Johannesburg (OR Tambo) International Airport and are a popular stop over for the overseas traveller just beginning or ending their holidays in South Africa.

Please confirm when booking.
For overseas visitors who are arriving at Johannesburg Airport, take the Boksburg Highway (R21) and then turn onto the N12 towards Witbank, this road then becomes the N4, continue on pass the Middleburg turnoff and after another 60 kms take the R540 (R33) to Belfast, Dullstroom and Lydenburg.
If you are coming from Lydenburg over the "Long Tom Pass", when you come down the last hill into Sabie, you will see houses on your left, then our Hillwatering sign and a large sign with a map of the town on it. TURN LEFT. Follow the road for about 100 metres and then TURN RIGHT into Marula Street (there is another Hillwatering sign post here as well)
Follow the road down the hill and around the corner for about 200 metres, you will then see a large beige coloured house on your left, 50 Marula Street, this is Hillwatering (it has a sign outside)
If you are coming from another direction (i.e. Hazyview, Graskop etc) then you will have to drive through Sabie and take the R532 road to Lydenburg. As you leave town you will go through a 3-way STOP street, after this, follow the Lydenburg road for approx 1 kilometre, passing on your right a CALTEX garage and the Golf course, take the SECOND TURN to your RIGHT (Hillwatering is signposted from here) this crosses a small bridge, about 50 metres further on TURN RIGHT at the T junction, follow the road up the hill until you come to a 3-way stop street, TURN LEFT into Marula Street and No 50 is about 200 metres further on, on the right.
Sabie is approx a 4-hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
