Hillwatering Country House - Directions to Us

PS. If you are a foreign visitor please note that the tollgate on the N4 does not accept foreign credit cards only South African rands, garages selling petrol only accept cash as well.

For overseas visitors who are arriving at Johannesburg Airport, take the Boksburg Highway (R21) and then turn onto the N12 towards Witbank, this road then becomes the N4, continue on pass the Middleburg turnoff and after another 60 kms take the R540 (R33) to Belfast, Dullstroom and Lydenburg.

If you are coming from Lydenburg over the "Long Tom Pass", when you come down the last hill into Sabie, you will see houses on your left, then our Hillwatering sign and a large sign with a map of the town on it. TURN LEFT. Follow the road for about 100 metres and then TURN RIGHT into Marula Street (there is another Hillwatering sign post here as well)
Follow the road down the hill and around the corner for about 200 metres, you will then see a large beige coloured house on your left, 50 Marula Street, this is Hillwatering (it has a sign outside)

If you are coming from another direction (i.e. Hazyview, Graskop etc) then you will have to drive through Sabie and take the R532 road to Lydenburg. As you leave town you will go through a 3-way STOP street, after this, follow the Lydenburg road for approx 1 kilometre, passing on your right a CALTEX garage and the Golf course, take the SECOND TURN to your RIGHT (Hillwatering is signposted from here) this crosses a small bridge, about 50 metres further on TURN RIGHT at the T junction, follow the road up the hill until you come to a 3-way stop street, TURN LEFT into Marula Street and No 50 is about 200 metres further on, on the right.

Sabie is approx a 4-hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
