Golden Valley Country Inn is situated midway between the Addo Elephant National Park and the Mountain Zebra National Park in the Karoo Heartland near the towns of Cookhouse and Somerset East. It is 160km (approximately one and a half hours drive) from Port Elizabeth on the N10 main route to Gauteng via Cradock.

This cosy country inn offers a tranquil experience consisting of comfortable accommodation, excellent fare, friendly atmosphere and a wide range of activities. Accommodation consists of 13 comfortable rooms designed to suit your individual needs. Six of the rooms are en-suite of which two are so called family rooms. The hotel has a typical old style design with fitted basins serviced by two bathrooms and two separate toilets down the passage. All the rooms have heaters, fans and telephones.

The establishment not only offers overnight accommodation to weary travellers but, since it is situated in the middle of a farming and game reserve area it also offers various day trips for guests staying in the hotel.
