Esiweni Lodge is situated in the malaria-free, Big 5 Nambiti Game Reserve. With it's lofty position and decks hovering on the very edge of a precipice, Esiweni boasts spectacular views. To the right is a 40 metre high waterfall. To the left, steep hills become a muted haze in the distance with a dramatic view over the Sundays River.
The lodge can host ten people in five spacious suites, including a honeymoon suite and two that are interconnected for use as a family unit. Hugging the cliff edge, all have advantage of the spectacular views from private decks. Besides the showers and luxurious freestanding baths inside, suites also have outdoor showers. Each suite has underfloor heating for cold winter nights and overhead fans for warm, summer evenings. The honeymoon suite has a private, outdoor bath with stunning views across the valley.
The decor of the main lodge is elegant depicting a colonial safari theme. Large, stone hearths warm the lounge and dining areas on cold, winter nights. During good weather, outdoor dining overlooking the valley is served on the vast, wooden deck. The lodge has a wine cellar with a wide selection of South Africa's best wines and a well-stocked yellowwood bar to enjoy drinks before dinner. There is rim-flow pool on the main deck from which you can enjoy the remarkable view. An intercom system is in place to connect each suite to the lodge staff in case of emergencies. The lodge is also surrounded by unobtrusive electric fence to ensure the safety of all the guests. |
