We at the Emerald Backpackers provide you with the excellent service of a free airport transfer on your day of arrival. We pick you up from the airport free of charge, take you to the Emerald Backpackers, where you can relax at the bar and get yourself an evening meal as well. Then you have a good night sleep, well rested before you start your journey into South Africa exploring what you set out to do on this holiday.

The next day we take you back to your car rental to pick your car or to the airport for your onward journey, this transfer is again a free ride. Emerald backpackers, has 4 dormitories: 2 for the males and 2 for the females. The dormitories also have their own kitchen for cooking with tee and coffee making facilities. We also have single and double rooms for the more private person. There is a well stocked bar, a restaurant on-site, 2 swimming pools, TV in the bar as well as in the private rooms.

The Emerald Backpackers is situated within the premises of the Emerald Guest House with its lovely gardens and birdlife. Emerald Backpackers is close to Johannesburg International Airport and can be easily reach by car on the R21 highway coming from the airport. You can gain easy excess to all the major highways, and we are about 25km from the centre of Johannesburg, and only 5km from Emperors Palace.

From the OR Tambo International Airport

Exit the airport take the R21 Pretoria highway.
1st offramp Voortrekker rd take this one and at the traffic lights turn left.
Here the road split 3 ways take the far left Rhodesfield.
Albatross Street.
Second lights turn left Gladiator Street.
1st Stop left into Kingfisher.
1st street Right into Halifax Road.
We are no. 19 Halifax Road on the right hand side.
