Elephant River Guest House lies nestled in the historical village of Clanwilliam (7th oldest town in South Africa), at the foot of the majestic Cederberg mountain range. These mountains are world renowned for their Bushman rock art, rock climbing and mountain trails which are all within easy distance. We are also 60km from the unspoiled West Coast and situated on the main highway to Namibia, so providing a welcoming stopover for guests.

The guest house was built in 1911, and is mingled with modern comforts and old fashioned country hospitality. The main house offers two large airy rooms, one with two single beds and the other with both a double and a single bed. Both rooms have access to two private bathrooms that are off-suite. The guest house also has 4 garden suites with double bedrooms. Two suites have two single beds and the other two have double beds. The suites are individually furnished with brass beds and mosquito nets, fans, refreshment facilities, fridges and TV's. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers and leading out to a generous veranda with a beautiful garden. We offer safe off-street parking, a large fruit tree filled garden with an inviting swimming pool.

The establishment has braai (barbecue) facilities situated under old vines and sparkling stars, which creates an unforgettable South African ambience. The guest house is within walking distance of various shops and restaurants. The West Coast hospitality brings guests back every year to see the world famous spring flowers (between Aug - Sept), the unique Rooibos tea growing farms and the untamed natural beauty.
