Ekukhanyeni Christian Retreat and Guest House is based at the foot of an impressive mountain cliff, nestled in the midst of natural and man-made forests, and is blessed with much peace and serenity. Relax in the comfortable lounge in front of a crackling log fire, unwind lazing around the sparkling pool, or go for a brisk walk up the mountain. We are centrally located for easy access or day trips to the Kruger National Park, Panorama Route, Pilgrim's Rest, Blyde River Canyon, Sudwala Caves, as well as Nelspruit just 20 minutes drive away.

Ekukhanyeni means "The place of light" in siSwati, one of the 11 official languages of South Africa, and is managed by Ian & Stephanie Milne, who have built it into what it is today. The guest house has 10 en-suite, beautifully appointed twin bedrooms. Enjoy our cosy lounge with a fireplace, and enjoy your meals in our stylish dining room. We are proud of our great cuisine offering a variety of home cooked South African and Continental dishes. Also available is the TV lounge, where our guests can relax. The secluded pool is perfect for unwinding.

Well apart from the guest house we have 2 dormitories (sleeps up to 60) - a perfect base for a school or church camp for youth. We have extensive experience in organizing a variety of camps: motivational, team building, leadership etc. Ekukhanyeni is also a great conference venue. Our well equipped "King Fisher" conference room seats up to 18 in "u-shape" and up to 36 in "cinema style". Please come and visit us at any time! Ekukhanyeni's doors are always open.

From Nelspruit, take the R40 to White River, turn left onto R37 to Lydenburg / Mashishing (at BP petrol station) measure 23km, entrance on left hand side.

From Johannesburg (N4) about 30km before Nelspruit turn left at Sudwala / Sabie turn-off, after about 6km turn right onto Sabie turn-off, then after 16km turn right at T-junction towards Nelspruit on the R37 road, after 6km the entrance is found on the right hand side.
