Donann is set amongst the pristine bushveld and rocky hills less than an hour's drive north of Johannesburg. Situated within the world heritage site at Broederstroom, the tranquility offered is both therapeutic and stress relieving.

The visitor is able to walk in the open grassland and view the indigenous fauna and flora. Kudu, hares and monkeys have been known to visit the homestead. At present 3 guest rooms, with queen size beds are available. Two rooms are situated within the main house, the other a Rondavel in the garden, all offer a magnificent vista of the hills and grassland. Adjacent private bathrooms for each room, fitted with hot and cold running water and flushing toilets and all modern conveniences, offer all the comforts of home.

Situated close to the Hartebeespoort Dam, there is an abundance of activities available which include game drives, walking trails, guided Anglo-Boer history tours, craft markets, horse riding, bird watching, tennis, bowls and two excellent golf courses. There is a scenic cableway ride to the top of the Magaliesberg, an aquarium, bird-park and local zoo also in close proximity. There are many restaurants and special pubs in the area, including a floating restaurant on the dam. The well-known Sterkfontein and Wonder caves, together with the Rhino Reserve are situated a few kilometers to the south.
