DESCRIPTION:

De Novo Lodge is situated in Port Edward on the renowned Old Pont Road, leading to the Umtamvuna River and Nature Reserve, and is only 5 minutes drive from the Silver Strand.

The lodge comprises of 5 units that sleep 4 persons per unit. 4 of the 5 units have a fully equipped kitchenette. The 5th unit is for overnight guests or the "overflow" of families consisting of more than 4 persons. 3 of the units are air-conditioned and 2 are equipped with a ceiling fan. All the units have a TV. Bedding and all kitchen appliances, such as a microwave and fridge / freezer, needed for a problem free holiday is provided. There are braai (barbecue) facilities available. Towels and toiletries are unfortunately not provided.

A wide variety of birdlife is found here and this makes the area a bird lover's paradise. The park-like gardens gives a restful and serene atmosphere. There is a fresh water swimming pool on the grounds, and lots of room for the kids to play. The lodge is secure with an access controlled gate and safe parking. Each unit has its own security system. We are "a well kept secret" because the units are situated behind a huge wild fig tree that shields them from the road.

DIRECTIONS:

From Durban take the N2 (South Coast Road)

You will pass Hiberdene, Shelly Beach and Margate / Ramsgate. Just past Margate / Ramsgate you will find a traffic light known as the Southbroom traffic light. Just follow this road until you get to the Port Edward traffic light. You will pass places like Marina Beach, San Lameer, Palm Beach, Leisure Bay (only some of the little "hamlets" mentioned)

At the Port Edward traffic light, turn right - away from town. And then directly left again. Follow this road, ± 500m the road makes a sharp turn to the right. Do not turn off, just follow the road past the "Farmstall", and the "Ematseni Restaurant". (All on your right hand side of the road)

Just after "Ematseni" you will get "Banners Rest Bottle Store" on your right and a road turning off to your left. There is a big black-on-white board saying Old Pont Road. Turn left into Old Pont Road. We are 1.1km down Old Pont Road on your right hand. The outer walls are painted a soft yellow. There is a big white board with our name and a pink hibicus flower on it on the sidewalk. Turn in at the black and gold gate and ring the bell. We will open the gate for you.
