| DESCRIPTION: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Minutes away from Sandton City, and even less from Fourways Mall, lies an unexpectedly beautiful recreation of an 18th century Cape Dutch homestead in an "island" of green tranquility. Set in 3 acres of countryside, and lovingly filled with treasured family heirlooms and magnificent antiques, De Kuilen Country House is a place of peace and pampering. Guests may choose from our four large and charmingly appointed cottages known as the "Birdsong Cottage", "Pomegranate Cottage", "Arum Lily Cottage", "Lavender Loft", and "The Tree House". The cottages are all self contained and tranquil, set in their own little gardens which are scented with roses and herbs. Guests may also choose to have breakfast served on their own private garden verandah, or in the rose filled courtyard of the main house. For other meals you may wish to take advantage of the excellent self catering facilities. Perhaps indulge yourself with a memorable gourmet dinner, which proceeds to a social conversation by the fire in winter, and in summer, drinks in an alfresco ambience. De Kuilen Country House combines the warmth and graciousness of traditional Cape Dutch hospitality with all the modern comforts in one of Johannesburg's most convenient northern suburbs. It is perfectly positioned for a peaceful setting and a spacious venue for relaxation. Your hosts offer you a warm welcome with security, privacy and tranquility. |

| DIRECTIONS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| As you leave OR Tambo International Airport take the Johannesburg fork to right R24 (N3). Keep driving for 9km and look out for a large overhead sign to Germiston / Johannesburg / Pretoria. At the 10.4km take the left fork with the signboards that say Germiston / Johannesburg / Pretoria) then take the immediate right fork going towards Johannesburg / Pretoria. Then the highway will make quarter clover leaf shape and then turn left onto the N3 (Pretoria). Avoid the London Road, Sandton turn-off. Travel for 15km and then there will be a Johannesburg sign on your left hand side. Do not take this off-ramp and also avoid the Pretoria off-ramp. Continue straight along this road, driving in middle or right hand lane marked Roodepoort. After about 2km you will see the off-ramp before ours (Sandton, Rivonia road). After this keep to left and about 5km further take Sandton, William Nichol Drive off-ramp. After the William Nichol off-ramp, turn immediately to your right towards Fourways, at 1st traffic light. You will approach a second traffic light at the end of the bridge over when you passed over the highway. The third traffic light is situated about 800m from the off-ramp. Then turn left into Leslie Avenue and continue over the stop street, to the traffic light which is in Douglas Drive near the petrol station and shops. At the traffic light, just after the Sandton Bible Church sign, turn right into Glenluce Drive. Please complete a security form at the boom across the road. Continue driving and just before the curve in the road you will see the tall, white arch over our gate on the right hand side. Look out for the sign at gate, "De Kuilen J.C. Molteno". |
