Whether you are a weary adventurer or a lucky holidaymaker, Crane Cottage is the perfect place for you! It is situated in the heart of the Karoo, on the R58 between Gariep Dam and Venterstad.
This magnificent sheep farm will entertain you with a mixture of simplicity and luxury! We have 4 fully furnished self catering cottages that can accommodate from 5 - 7 guests. There are tea / coffee making facilities and fresh linen and towels are provided on a daily basis. Safe, secure parking is also available on the premises.
The Gariep Dam is situated close by, for exiting activities such as fishing and boat trips whilst the farm offers peace and tranquility. In addition we have many birds visiting the farm, so it is definitely a bird lover's paradise!

Coming from Bloemfontein on the N1, take a left turn at the sign board (Gariep Dam, Bethulie, R58 Venterstad) continue to next signboard (Venterstad via Gariep or via Verwoerd Dam) turn left and pass the Aventura Resort on your left. Travel over the dam wall, continue to the next stop sign, turn left at R58 Venterstad. Approximately 14km turn right at the signboard "Crane Cottage". Travel 5km on the dirt road and turn left into the farm.
From Cape Town
From the N1 at Colesburg, take the second off-ramp signboard (R717 Philipolis , R58 Burgersdorp, R369 Petrusville). Turn right at the stop sign R58 Burgersdorp and go under the N1 bridge. Turn left at stop sign at the R58 Burgersdorp. After 55km turn right at "Crane Cottage" signboard, travel 5km on dirt road into the farm.
