Centrally situated in Zululand within 300 acres of bush and game area surrounded by over 300 000 acres of national parks, including Hluhluwe, Umfolozi, Mkuzi, Nduma, Sodwana Bay and the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. Bushlands Game Lodge offers guests the ultimate African bush experience.
The lodge has 25 air-conditioned rooms, they are elegantly furnished and include facilities as a television and a small kitchen. These rooms can be configured to cater for 2 to 6 people. The rooms are connected by raised wooden walkways which lead to the main dining room, bar, swimming pool and boma. The boma provides the perfect meeting place where guests can enjoy drinks around the fire before dinner, or simply unwind at the end of a wonderful day.
The resident chef prepares mouth watering meals and specialises in succulent venison and other game dishes. Meals can be enjoyed in the main dining room or weather permitting, under the African stars in the boma or on the swimming pool deck. The enclosed outdoor viewing lounge allows guests to view the animals as they come down to the watering hole. Game walks / drives to nearby reserves are available on a daily basis. Bushlands Game Lodge has an abundance of birdlife on the property and is registered as a birder friendly establishment.

Travel from Johannesburg to Ermelo. Follow the N2 south from Ermelo. Travel past Piet Retief, Pongola and Mkuze towards Hluhluwe, 10km after the Hluhluwe turn-off on the N2 you will see a brown sign indicating a turn-off to Bushlands / Dumazulu. Take the turn-off and turn left. Follow this road and you will pass the Dumazulu Kraal entrance on your left hand side. Visitors to the "Cultural Experience" will park in this car park. Continue on dirt road to the T-junction and then turn left, the Dumazulu Lodge entrance will be on your left approximately 500m from the junction. Continue on this road until you see the "Bushlands" sign (2˝km). For visitors to Bushlands Game Lodge, turn right and cross over the railway line then follow the dirt road until you see the Bushlands Game Lodge entrance on your left hand side.
From Durban
Follow the N2 North from Durban. Travel past Stanger, Gingindlovu, Richards Bay and Kwambonambi, 40km after Mtubatuba you will see a sign indicating a turn-off to Bushlands / Dumazulu. Take the turn-off and turn right over N2 freeway. Follow this road and you will pass the Dumazulu Kraal entrance on your left hand side. Visitors to the "Cultural Experience" will park in this car park. Continue on dirt road to the T-junction and then turn left, the Dumazulu Lodge entrance will be on your left approximately 500m from the junction. Continue on this road until you see the "Bushlands" sign (2˝km). For visitors to Bushlands Game Lodge, turn right and cross over the railway line.
