Some 13km from Magaliesburg and 300m off the R24 to Rustenburg, situated in a tranquil valley facing the Magaliesburg Mountains (an hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria) is the peaceful and picturesque Big Creek Guest Lodge. Built on a 17 hectare portion of the original Boschfontein Farm, which varies from rocky kopies to a quiet stream under weeping willow trees.
The lodge has a 3 star grading by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa and accommodates a maximum of 20 guests. Accommodation consists of 3 semi-detached self catering units, 1 semi-detached family self catering unit, 1 semi-detached single / bunk bedded unit, a fisherman's log cabin and the luxury Syringa Berry log cabin.
The semi-detached units are beautifully appointed on-suite units. The units have fully equipped modern kitchenettes with granite finishes, private verandah's and braai (barbecue) facilities, over looking manicured lawns and swimming pool area. These four units lead off a large covered courtyard with a unique fireplace which is a convenient get together area if the lodge is booked as a block booking or extended family weekends, birthday parties etc.
The fisherman's log cabin is a free standing air-conditioned two sleeper, with on-suite bathroom, a fully equipped open kitchen over looking a small dam. The luxury Syringa Berry log cabin is a secluded chalet set on the edge of a small indigenous forest. This unit has an on-suite bedroom with a king size bed, a spacious air-conditioned lounge, a fully equipped kitchenette and raised wooden deck verandah with a braai (barbecue) facility. The cabin is an ideal honeymoon or romantic break away.
Conferencing, weddings (seating 150) and team building events are most welcome. Either way you will receive all the care and attention you deserve from our friendly staff. |
