The resort stretches along 1.5km of river frontage and is the ideal riverside spot for your next family holiday break. It is also the most central location from where to discover the Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek Winelands. The Berg River is a small, family-orientated resort for people who are interested in the simple things in life. Choose between the family chalets or waterfront campsites, perfect for enjoying the peaceful view of the water and the Boland Mountains that change colour at sunset.
The resort is situated amoung vineyards and citrus orchards. Beneath large, shady trees, there are approximately 150 spacious, partially grassed stands for tents or caravans. Most of the stands are equipped with 15 amp power outlets. There are 15 self catering, fully equipped, family chalets for hire, which can cater for 2, 4 or 6 people. These range from a bachelor-style chalet to ones with two bedrooms.
This is the ideal setting for canoeing and swimming and many hours of relaxation can be spent drifting lazily on a huge tube or lilo. Additional facilities include a 3.5m deep swimming pool, kiddies pool and a waterslide. There is a spacious lawn for ball games, a volleyball net is always up for the energetic players. During peak season, an entertainment program is initiated for all age groups. The Berg River Cafe will provide you with all the essentials for your daily needs. They hire out boats and canoes, provide pool tables in the games room and supply DSTV. Catering for small private functions and group bookings can be arranged. Onsite in a laundry with washing machines and tumble dryers. Public telephones and security are additional features. |
