Bergplaats Game Lodge welcomes you to the heart of the Central Karoo. Situated 75km outside of Beaufort West, Bergplaats offers a peaceful place where guests can come to replenish their souls and enjoy the beauty of God's unspoilt nature.
The farm consists of 8500 hectares private land and is set against the backdrop of a rugged mountain. It supports a huge variety of plants, more than 12 kinds of game and many bird species. At night, you will see a spectacular sight when you look up at the canopy of stars over Bergplaats. This is a place where you are humbled and reminded of the wonder of God's creation.
Bergplaats offers 3 different accommodation facilities including Gemsbok Lodge (B&B), God's Window Lodge (Self Catering) & Duikers Rest Bush Campsite.
Gemsbok Guest / Game Lodge is the main accommodation. This farm house offers 4 rooms with air-conditioning (2 en-suite) and can sleep up to 10 people. It is well equipped for self catering, but also serves as a B&B. Meals can be provided on request.
God's Window (minimum 2 nights) mountain hut is set in tranquil surroundings with a spectacular view of the endless Karoo flats. It is a wonderful place to spend some quiet time with God and nature. The hut has solar lighting and all other basic facilities and equipment needed for a pleasant stay. It can be reached by 4x4 or 2x4 with diff lock. Transport will be provided, at a little extra cost, to those who do not have such a vehicle.
Duikers Rest Bush Campsite is situated in the centre of the farm. It is an open campsite with uninterrupted views of the Karoo plains and our very own majestic mountain. The campsite has a lapa which is protected from the occasional wind, with the best view of the Karoo sunset. The campsite has basic solar lighting and very basic facilities. There is an open air outdoor shower and toilet and a natural rock basin with running water. It is ideal for camping with tents and can accommodate a party of up to 10 people (exclusive use). |
