The historic Belvidere Manor Hotel overlooks the Knysna lagoon and offers stunning views of the water and mountains beyond. Built in 1849, the Belvidere Manor Hotel is a gracious Georgian farm house and was the home of the Duthie family, who settled here in 1834. Now our guests can stay in their own private cottages each echoing the architecture of the manor house, with an airy living room, comfortable sofas, a fireplace, a TV and a DVD player. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and one two or three double en-suite bedrooms. Fully serviced and individually decorated each cottage has views of either the lagoon or our colourful gardens.

Start the day with a delicious breakfast on the verandah of the Belvidere Manor Hotel before exploring the surrounding area, relaxing at the beach or just lounging by our sparkling pool. Light meals are served throughout the day and in the evening indulge in gourmet delights at Caroline's Restaurant which serves an a' la carte menu featuring locally sourced produce from neighbouring farms and suppliers. Alternatively, The Bell Tavern, Knysna's smallest pub serves light meals and is open until late.

Our gazebo is the perfect wedding venue for small parties of up to 40 guests, whilst our functions venue, the Duthie Room caters for that special celebration or small meetings and business conferences.

Travelling on the N2 approaching Knysna from George, take Brenton / Belvidere off-ramp and proceed around under the freeway. Continue for 3km and turn left to Belvidere, then take your first right into Belvidere Estate. Continue on Lower Duthie Drive past the jetty for approximately 500m. You will see the hotel entrance on the right hand side.

From Port Elizabeth, drive through the town of Knysna and around the lagoon for 4kms towards George. As you cross the bridge over the lagoon take the Brenton/Belvidere off-ramp to the right, and proceed as above.
