40 Winks Accommodation is situated in the beautiful town of Somerset West, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and is an ideal base to explore the Western Cape and enjoy the many attractions that will make your stay an interesting and enjoyable one. Surrounded by the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountain range and the Helderberg, at the entrance to the winelands and 20 minutes away from Cape Town International Airport, the Stand and Gordon's Bay, Somerset West offers a large variety of things to see and do.

There are historical and popular wine estates where you can do some wine tasting, have a picnic, view game or taste some of the cheeses. Guests can enjoy scenic drives, play golf on the many golf courses, visit the Helderberg Nature Reserve, the arts and crafts market, Monkey Town, excellent restaurants and the Somerset Mall (one of the largest shopping centres in the Western Cape). Various activities such as hiking, horse trails, whale watching, fishing and boat trips from Gordon's Bay are also available. Guests can pack a picnic basket or go to one of the restaurants when making a day trip to visit some of the nearby interesting towns all within an hour's drive and the City of Cape Town is only 35 minutes away.

Comfortable accommodation is offered in the "Birds Nest" en-suite bedsitter (studio) which is fitted with an air-conditioner and is suitable for single or double accommodation with cooking facilities or bed and breakfast. There is a TV with various channels, a small sitting and dining area, undercover secure off street parking, a private entrance, a swimming pool and barbeque (braai) facilities. The "Dolphin" and "Guinea Fowl" cottages were completed in April 2007 and are suitable to sleep 2 adults and 2 children or a 3rd adult. Each cottage has one en-suite bedroom, an open plan lounge, a dining area and very well equipped kitchenette. The cottages have a TV with various channels, wall safes, heating panels and ceiling fans. Undercover secure off street parking, private entrances, a swimming pool and barbeque (braai) facilities are also available.
